When i was a waiter...

Well like i mentioned before, i was a waiter in the past. although its just a part time job, it really helped me earn some money to satisfy my wants. Like Fatboy slim said, it has a flexible time and can earn some money. But be warned that if you continue reading my experience you might not want to eat outdoors anymore.

While i was still at secondary school, there were times i will register myself to work part time at certain places especially during the school holiday. Let me start with my experiance working in a 5 star hotel.

In order to be able to work, my friends and i will have to register our names with the hotel.No interviews, no training and no orientations. All we have to do is to take a look at the bookings and select which are the days we would like to work and then write our name at the registration book.

My friends and i prefer to work full day so we usually select days where they need help for full day events. Why? because we live quite a distant from the hotel. if we want to earn money we will have to lower our expenses.

I still remember my first days of work is really scary but thanks to my friends, its not really too scary. You see without orientation, you basically do not know what you need to do. Luckily my friends worked there before and they taught me how to do it.

You know when you are new, people tend to bully you? To me its OK because if i don't have the intelligence to know what needs to be done, i don't mind to contribute my strength to work on those which do not need intelligence.

working from 8am to 3am is no easy task. You need the determination and mind strength to keep it going.

I also remember that after a week working, i started to challenge the supervisor who is taking care of us. During his briefing, i annoyed him and he put me in charge of 3 VIP tables because he is lacking of staffs that time. Anyway i did the job well and i was granted extra 3 hours income as a reward. After that he acknowledge my job and begin calling me to work often.

Nothing beats the enjoyment of payday. We are paid once a week depending on the number of hours worked. The money we get our pay my friends and is will go out tospend some of it. Man those were the days.

Well as i see nowadays, children are more pampered. Take a look at my younger brother. they never work like me. whenever they need money they can get them from their parents or their elder brother and sister. I am worried about their future when they begin to work.

Anyway its getting late and i better go to bed. at my next episode, i will discuss more about the behavior of the employees working in hotels and banquet.
