Big boss with hearing ability or small boss who is deaf. Good words hurts the ear and bad bosses hurts your career

Now continuing what I left off in the last article, my Malaysian boss is the big boss in Malaysia but my company have bigger share holder which is based in Indonesia. Now the idiot is sent from Indonesia to monitor finance here.

Now my boss being afraid to lose his job here, always bias towards the idiot because she has value. She could speak of good things in Malaysia on my boss’s behalf since she is a spy. The idiot also requires my boss’s protection because she does not want to go back or be sent to other country so there is mutual benefit here.

My boss also cut off all communication with Indonesia from us. Only my boss, idiot and miss yap have communications with Indonesia. This makes it easier to control wrong information from reaching the Indonesia bosses.

My boss is very tactical. Everything he does is for the benefit for his own good. No one else matter. There was once before miss yap resign, I could see that my immediate superior almost became a scapegoat for low sales but miss yap’s resignation saved him. Well because no one else knows how to do certain job which my immediate superior knows. So how? My boss press hard on his balls and be patient lah!

Anyway, nasty bosses are everywhere. I really think that only nasty bosses can make good money. My wife has a good boss but every employees are like shit. I have a nasty boss but the employees are great. My wife’s company is small and difficult to progress because of lousy employees. My company is big but cant progress because of a deaf boss

Having written until here, I now had tone down my anger. I really hope I could control my temper for the rest of the day because I don’t want my wife and daughter to get it. I promise myself I will not lose my calm today. Hope all will be over soon when I get a new job

Why so honest you stupid fool?

Well I learned a lesson today. Never be too honest to your boss. He may think you are challenging him. Now here is a story

Last Monday in the weekly meeting, I told my boss that I need to know more on how salary is calculated in my company. For your information I seriously do not know this. We have 2 salary calculation period. Our claims including our monthly allowances are calculated from 16^th of month1 to 15^th of month 2 and being paid on end of month 2. Our wage period is from the 1^st of the month to the end of the month.

Of course as an employee, we are confused especially when you don’t have an SOP. At the very minimum the Human resource should at least explain to new comers like me. Now at the meeting I asked the question and I request that it should be in written (to avoid problems like miss yap in earlier stories) but the boss told me to ask her verbally

This morning I received this ridicules email from an idiot:-

Dear Lee,

With regards to your enquiry on the brought forward taxable fix allowance for the period 16 - 31 Dec 2010.

Again, as per inform & highlights in the Jan 2011 Sales meeting, fix allowances are suppose to be treated as part of your taxable income. However, company has bear the tax all this while.

Dear My immediate boss,

Please ensure that your team are aware & cleary understood with this matter.

Problem with the above mail:-

1. Paragraph one: you think this is an official written answer? My…my… you really are an idiot

2. Paragraph two: The company borne our taxes? Oh please its not like you paid extra

3. Paragraph three: what is clear? Can you make it clearer for me first before I make it clear to my staffs?

Now this is my reply

Dear Idiot,

I totally agree to this change as it is the correct way to do it. All these while, it is not deducted from us but it was not borne by the company because it was just treated as claims. The company did not bear any additional tax. Not only the company did not pay any additional charges, it also helps the company to save some taxes as the company expenses had raised and affects the profit and loss. Therefore if you did pay additional taxes please find out with the company secretary in regards to this matter.

As mentioned in the weekly meeting dated 21^st March 2011 evening, I my queries in regards to the salary calculations and all the deductions I hope I could get an answer from you as I must complete 2010 income tax once I receive EA from you. In order to refresh you memory in regards to this matter please find below the questions asked during weekly meeting

1. Is the allowances for 16^th to 31^st taxable?

2. How do you calculate salary during this transition time?

3. If its taxable, how do you deduct the tax from us?

4. Is our allowances still calculated from 15^th to 14^th every month?

5. If yes how do you calculate it?

6. If no, when is the transition period where changes had been made?

7. What are the formal announcement that had been made?

I hope you understand the urgency of this matter for individual employees. Just like managing the company accounts, every individual employees are required to manage their own accounts. Without any official announcement, it would be difficult to refer the matter to the higher authorities whenever required. Managing personal accounts requires highest attention just like how you manage the company accounts. Every little details requires prove and evident to be kept and the simplest form of evident is an official letter

Besides that, if any employees were to ask me in regards to this matter, I will never be able to answer.

A little side track off the main issue, please recall that besides the sales meeting nothing official had been told to the staffs including myself. All we know is starting January 2011 all allowances are taxable and no need to fill up in the personal reimbursement form. There is no memorandum stating this case nor any information on the changes of the new form until (my staff) filled up the new form. In this case, (my staff) also felt in doubt when he filled the new form and made the column by hand. This is the prove of confusion because our human resource did not make it official for the employees.

It is clear that employees are not the ones to be blamed. In order to reduce further misunderstanding which is for the good of the company and people within it, please make it official this time. As a matter of fact all employees are prepared for the tax but just do not know when and how to do it. Please do not make (my immediate superior) to tell us this information. Why allow us to listen from third party when you always have the accessibility to all your employees?

Anyway, Not long after my email is sent, my immediate superior got a call from my boss and he got f@#ked. Then I am requested to join a telephone conversation with my boss and now its my time to get F@#ked up. I don’t even have any opportunity to explain. Anyway the idiot was in the phone conversation as well. The whole conversation was one sided à towards the idiot.

Later the idiot was asked to leave the room and my boss tone down his voice. This time the conversation turn out to sound like a father nagging a child (less violent)

Today’s apple polisher…

Do you remember those days when your mother asked you to study hard to ensure that you have a good future? Well all those are the things of the past. In today’s world intelligence might be useful but not as useful as apple polishing.

If schools would like their students to be able to get a good job in the future, be sure that they create a new class called bodek class… at practical exam, get them to polish a man with high pride. If he likes it then give them an A.

Many people in Malaysia benefited from having the polishing skills. Well I’ve seen many myself. Let me tell you one of many that I’ve seen before.

Now there is a lady from a foreign nationality was posted in my office as Finance Director. She had trained well at her polishing skills. If you ask me her job description, my answer is below

1. Feed boss’s favorite dog every morning.
2. At lunch be sure to feed the boss himself. Don’t pack food, cook for him. The best way to get to a man’s heart is through his tummy
3. Chat with the boss whenever possible
4. If anyone does any minor mistake, make it big and tell the boss
5. If you did any mistake, shut up and use your power to make everyone else shut up. Ensure that the news did not reach the boss
6. If required, make a scrape goat out of anybody to take the blame
7. If there is something that you forget to do even though after reminders, act naïve and say no one told you before. If there is a black and white, blame it on IT.
8. Make people’s life miserable. If they have a good life they will have time to plan for your downfall
9. Whatever the boss said just say yes. Don’t worry, its your subordinates that needs to do the job regardless if they like it or not.
10. When boss is complaining about anyone else, try to recall past wrong doings and increase the problem.
11. When an issue arises, don’t find solutions. Find who is at the fault and put him to the boss’s office
12. When boss praise a job well done accept the complement, otherwise say who did it
13. Cut cost. Cut toilet paper, cut water usage, cut electricity cut wages and cut bonuses.
14. Say that you will stay late to complete a certain task but put an idiot to do it after the boss left

Anyway I will write more if I could recall more. Every morning before she does any work, she will ensure that the dog is fed. Then make breakfast for the boss and go back to her room. In the room, continue to look busy at facebook.com. when boss is free, go to his room and talk nonsense

At lunch wait for boss for lunch. If possible cook for him. Never leave the boss’s sight. Do some job for the rest of the day. If there is some dirty job to be done, assign it to someone. If he rejects the task, tell the boss.

Everyone hates her. She knew it but the boss don’t. And my boss dare to tell me that its difficult to polish him and change his mind. My understanding? Its so damn easy

Boys and girls if you need to learn, just learn the basic of school education and practice more on apple polishing. You will gain more from it.

People used to say “Bullshit could take you higher but cant keep you there”. In today’s world, all you need to do is to have continuous bullshit everyday to maintain the momentum and stay high. When things go wrong, bullshit somewhere else. There are companies everywhere

Crazy and Nasty Bosses

Despite the fact that the offer letter had been defined that resignation requires one month notice, some bosses could really turn and twist the story and makes it otherwise. I have a real life story of an unfortunate friend of mine. Below is her side of story…

Miss Yap (not her real name) had been attached to a company for more than 5 years now and as she could no longer stand the pressure of her job she had decided to put an end to it.

Miss yap was promoted from an executive to a manager during her employment in the company. When she got promoted, a new offer letter was signed and given to her. In the letter, it mentioned that she will get an amount of salary and notice of termination is as per her employment offer letter. In her first offer letter, notice of resignation clearly states that it requires one month.

After she found a new job, Miss yap tendered her resignation with a month notice and waited for the bosses news and advise on her last day of employment but in vain. Again and again she asked the secretary but still no news. When finally there are news about her last day, it was a bad news.

The boss said that she requires 3 months notice for resignation. Now calling in 2 other senior positioned employees, the boss forced the poor miss yap to sign a letter which states that she requires 1 and a half month notice. How did he forced her? Well the boss said that if she refuse to sign the letter, she will be charged under improper handover and shall be sued. The boss also said that he had consulted the company’s lawyer that it could be done. Now miss yap wanted to handover her job to the boss but he refused. (the boss is miss yap’s immediate superior and have no subordinates as all had resigned)

After such pressure and circumstances, Miss Yap unwillingly signed the letter and the 2 management employees act as a witness. Now after signing the letter, the boss said her last day will be 1 and a half month away. From here it might not look different but in actual fact, the boss had delayed the news for more than 2 weeks.

In other words, in order for miss yap to resign it requires 2 months notice. Considering that you are the employer of the new company, will you wait? Of course the poor lady lost her new job as well. Acting like a good boss, the boss said to Yap that he will consider to rehire her back if she would like to (in a manner that he is doing a favor for her).

What is the point of this story? Its just a reminder to folks out there that bosses could be really nasty if they want to. When you get a good boss, stick with them. It’s a jungle out there.

Now here are my questions…
1. Is it true that the boss could charge yap for improper handover despite the fact that she wanted to handover all these while?
2. Can the boss delay the news and treat it as null?
3. I believe that in the worst case scenario, Miss yap might need to pay the indemnity of maximum the number of days that she did not serve the notice.
4. What can be done to prevent such case from happening to anyone else?
5. Doesn’t Malaysian government have any rules which could prevent such cases from happening again?

Recently my good ex-boss was kind enough to send me words of wisdom daily. After accumulating for some days, here is what i recieved from him. The reason i post about it is because maybe in the near future it might come in handy. Besides, SMS very soon will be all gone. Peacefully alone… Thinking about life

Like many would think, being left alone is a bad thing. For me, I am enjoying it. Its been 5 years since I last being left alone to do my own things. Today I am glad that it is my turn to have such opportunity.

I came to work and had lots of time to stay put and do nothing. Though some people will come and meet me from time to time but I am not needed in any meetings. I do not require to handle projects and I don’t use much brain power.

All I have to do now is to settle whatever tasks which is incomplete. I am also required to handover my uncompleted businesses to my fellow colleagues… (poor people). Lol

It is a good day. I woke up nicely this morning and feel glad I am still alive… Despite the fact my daughter woke me up 4 times for milk yesterday. Even though I woke up late, I did not rush to work and the traffic was not congested at all. I arrive 2 minutes late. I also have a nice good morning kiss from my wife and daughter…

When I left home, my daughter said bye bye to me. When I reached office few colleagues said good morning to me and until not anyone bothered me for big problems. It is a great day.

After years of struggling, I finally found peace at workplace. Maybe because there are no new tasks that would upset my plans. I am really getting old fast. I honestly feel like an old man looking for peace at mind.

I had been wondering what will be waiting for me at the new company? Like their industrial name describes Fast Moving Consumer Goods I am sure this organization will surely work at high pace and will not have any time to think and look for peace. Anyway, the pay is good and if I am busy, my wife & daughter could have a better life. Its is definitely worth it.

I had realized few of my wife’s dreams but I know I will not realize more than this if I continued getting the petty salary I am getting. If this risk or big hop means more joy, more happiness for my family I don’t care if it brings me more stress.

People loves to say, money is not everything but without money you cant do anything. Money cant buy happiness I know, but without money you cant buy anything but suffering. My wife and I don’t wish for a very wealthy life but to a minimum we must have the capability to enjoy life such as traveling. If I spend every penny I earn everyday, we will never have such life.

I hope I can allow my wife to retire early and live life as a housewife. I hope she can enjoy her life and stressless. I can bear all her burden. Better 1 man sorrow than 1 family sorrow. I cant pluck the moon from the sky for her but at least I could put the reflection of the moon on her palm. Hope it will be as good as having the moon on her hand.

Looking forward to be home with her tonight. I am also looking forward for a nice dinner at Fairies Café with my boys Au Yeong & Nic. They have been very supportive subordinates and very good friends of mine.

Just like how Jason & Adrian treated me as a child, I take them like my child. To goorm them for better future just like Jason & Adrian did. Not to mention Joanne, Frances, Sally and other leaders who had once lead me before

Public speaking in Sunway Pyramid

It is Sunday, 28th June 2010. Kenny Lee (Which means me) were required to conduct a public speaking at EXPO kesedaran Franchise. It was a surprise to me because my company got to know that we were required to perform something at the Expo only about 1.5 week in advance.

Immediately, a team of employees were put into a room to brainstorm about the sketch and 2 dudes were selected by the bosses to conduct a quiz as performance. Our objective was a very difficult one. To conduct a performance which could pull people’s attention, make people understand our franchise program and do not involve much cost.

WOW! It was a miracle that we manage to go through the talk. My pal and I only rehearsed not more than 1 hour and we have to be on stage for 30 minutes.

It was kind of scary at first because when it was about our turn, there were no more than 10 audiences. The question is… WHAT CAN I DO TO PULL THE CROWD! The moment truth is here. The Emcee announced our company name. I was the first to go in. From the stage I could see no more than 10 pax looking up to me.

In order to make this a success I need more audiences. I am now totally lacking of attention and so I shouted to everyone in the mall. “For you guys who could hear my voice but could no see me, come over to the concourse area and I shall give you some prize”. With that, more people came and I am now more at ease.

I was some great time talking and playing up on the stage though I thought I look like an idiot. Hahaha. My manager commented that it was a great show and I really hope its true because I do not want look like an idiot.

NOW, I have some new thing to add to my experience. Talk show at public locations. Maybe I should venture to the entertainment industry. Lol. But anyway, I really think I did a good job because at the end of the talk, we have close to 50 people looking towards the stage. From the top I could see everyone’s eyesight was towards me. Besides that I also manage to ask a family from the 2nd floor to join the game. It was fun

Anyway, It was also a tiring day yesterday. It’s a good thing that when I got home at about 9pm, both my wife and daughter were not asleep. Since they are awake, I got to play and chat with them. It’s something like an energy recharge for me. I am glad I have them by my side.

Throughout my service in my current company, I had a many opportunities to be guided by many different managers. I had recently been promoted to Assistant Manager and now I have subordinates under me. I thought and thought if I am a good manager in the eyes of my subordinate and then somehow it got me thinking how do I define a good boss?

This brought my mind to the past and started to evaluate my bosses again after all these years. After thinking maybe I should list down all the bosses that I worked with before to have a clear picture and not miss anyone. That is why I started blogging (since I have to write out why not blog about it). I will list down their advantage or strength as a manager. The bad things, better don’t publish because afraid I get sued for defamation.

1. Farok, Manager : Very concerned about subordinates & customers
2. Joyce, A. Manager: Work like a mom, taking care of subordinates.
3. Jason, Manager: A man who gets things done and made me better. I truly he play some part in carving me to who I am today. He thought to treat people the way I want to be treated. The thought me how to control my compulsive temper. He showed me what its like for the life above me and he treated me like a son or brother. Even after he left the company, he continued to help me grow. He is like a sifu to me
4. Frances, A.Manager: Iron Lady. Went through a lot together with her. A very practical person and very optimistic. Believes in what we can do and never afraid of doing too much. She too thought many things. She is also a laughing Buddha for the company. Now, she handles other department but still very helpful as usual
5. Chai, G.Manager: No comment.
6. Joanne, S. Manager: Great lady. Very systematic. The fascinating part about her is how she could instill fear in me in a very gentle way. Weird right? She thought me many things and she is also a sifu to me. Strict when is required, gentle when its appropriate. She is one lady many people misunderstood her maybe because the hung a strict face all the time. She is a great teacher in planning. Truly a guru because imagine she could make a person like me to become more systematic. She is also an expert in personality. Actually she made me interested in personality and organization behaviour. She is also a person who saw my talents in training
7. Daniel, A.Manager: Helpful manager but at times being bullied by me. I felt sorry for what I had done in the past.
8. Adrian, S.Manager: My sifu in preparing me to be a manager. He made me do stuffs that even most of the managers don’t do. He guide me in new tasks. He is also a very close friend of mine. He share many of his experience with me so that I could learn from the mistake he done before. He is also a very misunderstood person. Many dislike him but not me. He also showed me the “darkness” when seated above.
9. Sally, Manager: Systematic, practical and pushy manager. Make you do things and kept on reminding you to do it. Helps to defend you if you are framed. Scold you if you did things wrong. A women who has a clear line between good and evil. She is also playful when the situation allows.
10. Soo, A.Manager: Rich guy, close friend. A person you can count on as a friend. Very easy going and helps you in times of trouble.

After listing all my bosses I know who I am today. I am a combination of Jason, Adrian and Joanne. I treat subordinates like Jason, caring and share the subordinates’ feelings. Train them like Joanne being strict at times and prepare them to climb the corporate ladder like Adrian. Lets hope that my boys like me the way I am. I hope I don’t pressure them too much because it had been busy for them recently.

Today 2 out of 3 of my sifu had resigned. I know I must appreciate the one which still remains but she is now AGM. Its difficult to have time to talk to her like it used to be. Now I hope I could be a good role model for my staffs. It is time I get entrusted to than being entrusted.

Now its official... My blog will no longer have any stories about office... Why? simple... Its because there are many spies... That's why i have not been updating much... There are many stories that i would like to share but no... no more! no more blogging about real office life

Anyway for you spies that are reading my blog... may you rot in hell and i will never talk about it again. HAPPY? i am ok with it... though i may have some hunch you are but nevermind... I choose to forget it because it will make me happier if i do not know

Who should be the boss?

This is a very good article i got from email and i thought its a very good one. Thats why i share this

When the body was first made, every part wants to be the boss. So there was an arguement and here is their discussion:-

The brain said: "should be the boss because i control the whole body's responses and functions."

The feet says: "We should be the boss as we carry the brain around and get him to where he wants to go"

The hands say: "We should be the boss as we do all the work and earn all the money"

And so it went on with the heart, lungs, the eyes until finally the Ass spoke up. All parts laugh at that idea that the Asshole being the boss. So the Asshole went on strike, blocked itselt up and refused to work.

Within a short period of time, the eyes crossed, hands clenched, the feet twitched, heart and lungs begin to panic, the brain fevered. Finally, they all agreed that the asshole should be the boss. So the motion was passed. All parts did all the work while the Boss pass out the shit.

The moral of the story: You did not need brain to be the boss. Any Asshole could do.

The Desert, My workplace

When you tell your superior that you have too much work and you cant finish them they might say, that's why you are paid at a monthly basis. If your work can finish, i might as well contract the work out to you.

To a certain extend, well its true... but i cant accept it

Many people in the same organization are given less work but they still enjoy the same pay. I always wondered why the hell i am doing more?

Opportunities? Career Development? Long term benefits? These are all currently untagible benefits and worse, its uncountable.

Honestly i dont even know what i am talking about now because i am lost. It feels like i am in a Desert with only a bottle of water. I do not know when will i be out of the desert or when i will find more water. I may die trying or maybe i will reach my goal.

the Desert is like my work, I do not know how far i should be walking. The water is like my motivation , i dont know when i will run out. My goal is like my Long term benefits, i dont know i will get it or i will die trying. Honestly if i knew i will die trying, i wont even try in the first place

So is long term benefits and oppurtunities your motivation?

How come work Candies never stop?

Its just yesterday that i met my director. Guess what! He is giving me more candies. Why dont they just stop. i already gave up hope of promotion in my current company. why do they want to remind me?

Anyway, it is said that i have a chance (again). I was told that in order for me to be able to promote i must be able to travel extensively. Below is a list of things that i must do to promote:-

1. Be able to travel. Tell my wife about it. Let her know i have to work. If not i will remain as executive and just take care of central (FAKE: Just want me to travel more)
2. Show my performance (FAKE: just want me to work more)
3. Dont joke too much

Ah hia... i dont want to listen liow. No need to tell me all these shits because i dont care anymore. Just let me do my work. Even if you dont tell me this i will also do my work. The more you try to tell me the more i feel irritated. Dont they know that?

Yes in the past i love to hear all these but after several diaspointments i hate it now.

Oh ya almost forgot. He even told me not to set too high goals for myself. He get to know from someone that i already set goals for myself which is to be at manager level by age 27. It was said that, my goals are pressuring me.

Hello! Let me remind you. You set company directions every year and your targets are always sky high. How come it doesn't pressure you? If i dont have goals for myself what is it that differs me froma salted fish?

Haih, the more i say the more angry i am. I am working now at the office.

Good News, Bad News. The final wolf story

Yesterday I got a phone call from my boss with one good news and one bad news.

Good news: The wolf is leaving the forest
Bad News: I will have to replace her in a certain project

Well its all not that bad. Although I god more jobs to do but I am not so angry about it. Why? Maybe its because I wont have to be so careful during meeting. At least, I can rest a little when dealing with internal staffs. At least I have one less worry while working.

I know many will tell me that 1 wolf gone, other wolf will come up. Well its expected but I know I will have at least 2 weeks of peace. She is finally gone and that is not good news. Its GREAT News

In the end can i say i won the battle since i stayed longer? (although i did not do anything)

Immune to work Candies...

You know how bosses loves to give you the fake candies to make you work? well i've been through this many times. Over and over again they will give you hope and give you difficult tasks. Even after you completed it, they will say your job is not satisfactory enough and there goes your hope.

Working at the current organization, i had been fed fake candies for 3 years now. I was so looking forward for my promotion 2 years ago when i was 24 years old.During that time i thought they will promote me to Assistant manager but according to HR, this is against policy. People must raise step my step and so i had been promoted to Senior executive.

The following year, I thought i will be promoted finally but no. Last year i felt very confident about my promotion because even my director told me and gave me the fake hope. hearing that, i did all i could and then the result is still no.

It was at the same year (last year) that an executive was promoted to Assistant Manager directly. Guess which department this lucky girl came from... YUP! Human Resource! This girl came in later than me and at a lower position. She came in as an officer and i was executive then. in 3 years she got promoted 4 times. Unbelieveable? well believe it

I could not understand how she did it but i believe its the works of the GM. She promoted her and because the executive director believed the GM she was promoted. This lady (HR who got promoted) is a lady who doesn't know how to carry herself. She is so strict to the rules that i thought she's a robot. She have no friends and she keeps herself isolated from everyone. Honestly i envy her because she got promoted this quick

Anyway that was besides the point. Back to the story... Today, Someone from the higher ups gave me a new assignment and said its my oppurtunity to shine. Like i mentioned in earlier blogs, i no longer have any hope in the company. When she told me this my reaction was "ok". In my heart i said to myself "Another Fake Candy".

All they wanna do is just to give me more tasks. Looking at the current situation in my company, i knew more work will come to me. Why? Because we have lack of employees and in terms of seniority, i am second. My boss is just one Assistant manager. If he is overloaded definately i am the next victim of jobs.

Anyway i will just do what i could.If i have not left my company by next year and they decided to promote me then its a bonus. If the answer is no then nevermind because i dont even wish or hope for it. When i get a new job i will leave as soon as i could. BONUS? forget about it. Back end employees will definately get more than us the frontlines.

So if any of my current boss is reading this i can tell them that fake candies will no longer work for me. This is because you guys lied to me too often. As a conclusion i shall name all those who told me that i have a chance:-

Setting up a new franchise

DAMN! I worked from 9am to 2.30am today. Why because i was setting up a new franchise. What do i get in return?Nothing but i still get screwed by the franchisee. Listen to my story...

I went there this morning expecting that i will be able t finish the work latest by 10pm. You see i understand that there are still some carpentry works still unfinished. This franchisee is really a fussy one. I have been a coolie for 3 days now.

Although the works are still being carried out, we can actually start to display the items. But she refused. She wants all the price tag up first before we put up the stocks. COMEONE LAH! THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO SET UP YOUR OUTLET!

I mentioned to her that its impossible that the government will come and check the price tag immediately.She refused. She is so fussy that we actually changed the display over and over again.DAMN i am angry!

If we put up the stocks to display without waiting for the price tag, we would have finish the job earlier! BUT no, the stubborn bitch wanted it her way. That is what about ladies... want things done perfectly without flaw.No compromise

Now my whole body is aching and there is still tomorrow. Tomorrow is her opening day. Will it be a better day for me? I really hoped so. I cant stand her anymore. If it wasn`t because i need my job i would have fxxked her up verbally... DAMN i am angry

Wolf's reaction on my post-mortem report

What is a post mortem report? Whenever we ask this question to someone they will say that a post mortem report is a report with analysis, people's view on the project and how all resources had been managed. Not to forget future enhancements.

I did a report which is about 8 pages long stating every thing that is done well and also the difficulties in every project phases. From project initiation to the project closing and monitoring. I've also included viewpoints from everyone who had participated in the project

When i send my report to everyone relevant to the project, the wolf decided that my report is no good. Well she did not tell this to me but she scolded her employee who is working under me for this project.

According to her the report is too lenghty and directors don't like this. Her subordinate was instructed to rewrite a post mortem report in powerpoint. Well i dont mind because i dont really care. She will be the one presenting to the BOD.

Her subordinate asked me to read the report and comment on it. The moment i read it i shook my head. Why did i shook my head? The report is more like an advertisement rather than a report. There is no facts and figures, no viewpoint of others and no references for future enhancement.

Its a little dangerous to let her go ahead with the presentation because i do not know what she is going to say. In the slides nothing is meantioned. After this she could say anything she likes and whatever she said will be facts.

I decided to fight back this time. I wanna try to hit her to see if she will die. Anyway i planned my way and hope it will work out. There are many preperatins that needs to be done but i had been assigned to many tasks now which is hindering the preperations.

Anyway wish me luck because luck is really what i need now. i dont have the full confidence of this war. i may end up killing myself because she is now in power. Lets all pray for me and hope for the best.

What do I understand from this statement? I really agree with this statement… Many people have other interpretation to this sentence but my personal understanding is something like “Never Judge a book by its cover”

In life itself, many people have invisible masks which they put on during different situations. What do you call your true self? Do you know your true self? What are you? Have you thought of such questions?

I had asked myself this questions many times but I never had an answer. When you are working you act as an employee. When I was at school, I act as a student. When I am at home 4 years ago, I am a child, or siblings but now I am a father and husband. So what are you?

You see you will never get answers to this questions. What you need to do is not to ask what are you but ask what should I be? Take the current situation into consideration. He who could excel the mask changing technique have better chance of survival. Just like a Chinese saying “Follow the wind when you are sailing”. Look at the flow and change accordingly

I loved to be able to excel at the mask changing technique but currently I only have a few masks. There are many other masks that I have but I refuse to use it. You may say that I am lying to myself but in the world today these masks are like a first aid kit. When there is a need to use it don’t forget to bring it. You will be in big trouble.

Now to like my statements to the corporate world in my current situation, many people have dozens of masks. They make be very nice to you at the current moment but when thigs go bad, they will take out the other mask and turn 360 degrees and shoot you back.

Mask helps because at some situations you will have to find scrape goats. If you don’t have one, create one! People may hate you but its better than dying in vain. Let me share a story.

There is a manager who will take back her words when necessary. For people like this we must always keep a black and white copy with her signature. You see it happens before. It all started when we have a new DC to propose. After all survey had been done, we passed a survey analysis to her and asks her to negotiate the rental price. The analysis had been passed to her but I failed to make a copy with her signature on it.

At the next moment, when she failed to negotiate, she will totally ignore the case and wait till you asked. When you follow up with her she will say that she is not informed about this and take out the act dumb mask. When asked about the JR she will say she don’t have it. When you show her your copy she said you did not give me and then puff! The problem is yours.

On normal days, when there is a black and white, she will be very nice to you and update you what she had done.That time she will put on a nice guy mask. She will say it in a manner that you owe her one because she helped you. She will also tell you the difficulties to hope that you will give her an answer. This is wrong! I am an executive and you are a manager. How could you ask for a solution from me?

In scenarios like this you will have to take out your dumb mask. ACT DUMB!!! Never give suggestion unless the boss is around. If the boss is around don’t give direct answers. Take out your act clever masks. Give some suggestions and make the other person make the decision.

You see. The world is just a stage. Life is just an act. When we work we got to have a few masks ready and change it accordingly. Don’t be like me always put the nice guy mask. People may like me but if necessary, I will be the scrape goat.

Anyway nice guys are not always at disadvantage. At the very least, some people (NOT ALL) will help you out if they could. Maybe they will speed up your needs and put them at higher priority. At least wont die off too soon and some people will say nice things for you in front of the bosses. Nice guys is difficult to climb. this is because you did not push the responsibilities to others and have some bad records which hinders your promotion.

If you always play dumb and push the responsibilities to others that is also a good thing but please do not do any mistake. No one will help you and people will make the case big. You can only thrust yourself and safe yourself. If you can do it then congratulations you are ok to push the responsibility to others and climb the corporate ladder faster. This is because you never make mistakes as all issues are faults of others.

The tension is building

Recently i have been smelling my cheese very often. You see i found out that its getting a lot more rotten. the speed of the change is very very fast. Just recently, i found out that there are many tension raising.

The first clue is some very good friends begin to quarrel over matters at office. It may be nothing personal but it leaves a scar in the heart. Hope these people will get over with it. things just got to happen. Evern strong friendship is falling apart in the jungle

The second clue is people of seldom makes mistake makes mistakes very frequently nowadays. Even a very well organized person now cant plan his time.in the past i never seen him forgetting some things but nowadays he can forget and only rememberd if asked.

Third clue is endless weekend work. I am the vistim f this. its been 2 weekends that i have to work but it does not stop there. This weenend and next weekend i have been scheduled to work again. i am very pissed but i am more concern about what my family will think. Its like being robbed off my time. Time have been stolen

Last but not least is positive people are tellig me negative stories. Just few days back, i asked a very positive person (usually) a negative question which is (its before long that every one leaves). his answer suprise me when he said " I will be next".

I really do not know what is happening. i mean how could an organization come down to this stage in such a short time. If the change is for a better future, the faster the better. Now its not the case. My jungle is changing to become worse. Damn this is annoying especially when one is desprate to look for a job and the job is not finding them.
